They are located via the township of Morisset on the foreshores of Lake Macquarie within Lake Macquarie Nature Reserve. The multidisciplinary team consists of two visiting psychogeriatricians, a ward medical officer, a social worker, a clinical nurse consultant, nurses, part-time medical secretary, hospital assistants, chaplain and volunteers. Ibis is a 27 bed medium to long stay psychogeriatric unit caring for people with difficult behavioural problems due to psychiatric illness and dementia. All our admissions are referred from Specialist Mental Health Services Older Person Inpatient Unit at The Mater.
