Child and Family Health Nursing (CFHN) is a primary health care service providing a wide range of health care and health promotional services to children and families. The service aims to maintain and improve the health of children, youth and families in the Greater Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephen's areas.
Child Health Nurses promote the physical, emotional and social health, well being and development of children from birth to five years of age, including their families.
CFHN has Registered Nurses with qualifications in child and family health nursing and general nursing. Some nurses have additional qualifications e.g. lactation consultancy, audiometry and immunisation. The service also provides assessments in early childhood, audiometry and parental issues.
