The Financial Rights Legal Centre provides free telephone financial counselling and legal advice to consumers on credit, debt, banking, bankruptcy, and insurance matters. They cannot provide advice to businesses.
Legal advice on credit, debt and bankruptcy is available by talking to one of their solicitors over the phone by calling 1800 844 949 (NSW only). For financial counselling, you can ring the National Debt Helpline 1800 007 007 (they operate the Sydney service). If you are First Nations, you can ring their Mob Strong Debt Help line on 1800 808 488 (national). Their Insurance Law Service hotline is 1300 663 464 (national). If you or your client are having difficulty contacting their advice service because of a disability or problems using an interpreter service, please let them know on their administration line (02) 9212 4216.
