Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels enables frail older people and younger people with disabilities and their carers to remain in their own homes and enjoy a level of independence and style of living to suit their individual needs. To be eligible clients need to be part of the Home and Community Care (HACC) program. Eligibility assessments are carried out by the local Meals on Wheels Service who can also suggest other HACC services that may assist depending on individual needs. Nutritious Meals - Flexible to your needs ;- no contracts The nutritious meals which include a main, soup and a dessert* ;average at around $9 to $12 a meal (prices vary around NSW). An economy main meal starting price averages at $4*. We believe our prices are still the lowest in the market. Our meals are delivered by professional well trained volunteers direct to the customers home as required with delivery being complimentary.  Meals on Wheels services offer: Delivery of frozen and cook-chilled food, in place of hot, to allow choice of when to eat the meal. Expansion of the range of food products taken into the home to include breakfast and snack items, and finger food menus for clients with reduced mobility or appetite.  Special menus and culturally appropriate delivery arrangements for particular community groups, especially centre-based meal programs to bring together clients of a particular ethnic background. Regular opportunities for clients to come together for a meal at a central location, sometimes including social activities such as discussion groups, readings, card games or physical exercises. Various forms of assistance with food shopping, for clients who want to prepare their own meals, and the giving of lessons in how to prepare easy, delicious meals for one. Meals of Wheels delivery Mon, Wed and Friday's. Multiple meals can be ordered to cover for the days the service does not run.
