samaritans Youth Services in Newcastle and surrounds offer extensive help to young people aged from 12 years. This includes support with everything from counselling, accommodation and parenting advice to drugs and alcohol, relationships and much more. This includes: Samaritans Transitional Accommodation Newcastle is a support service for young people  aged 12-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to stay housed or find accommodation. The service is also supported by a Housing Officer and an Aboriginal Case Worker. Samaritans Youth Accommodation Maitland  provides short term immediate accommodation for young people aged 16-19 who are experiencing homelessness. This service supports young people to develop the skills needed to maintain a permanent and stable living arrangement. If you are a young person. Samaritans Intake and Community Engagement is the first link to assistance for young people aged 16 to 24 who are at risk of homelessness in the Newcastle & Hunter Valley. This service also provides early intervention community engagement programs for young. Our Clinical Services Unit can work with you and your family to equip you with tools and strategies specific to your needs. Provides mental and health wellbeing support, information and services to young people and their families across Australia. Hunter headspace, based in Maitland, is auspiced by the Samaritans. This foster care service supports foster carers who provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people who are not able to live with their family. Aim to provide a range of supports to young people aged between 12 and 18 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and who want some assistance with their family relationships. We can help with things like counselling, goal setting and mediation. This program is a Foyer Model offering supported accommodation, education and employment opportunities to young people. Offers support to young people and their families aged between 12-18 years and is delivered by way of specialised programs, individual casework and activities and skill development groups. This is a free service and is offered to schools, other organisations and the community.
