The Hunter Tenants' Advice and Advocacy Service (HTAAS) is a free service providing information and advice to all tenants, including private and social housing tenants, and homeowners in residential communities.

Where appropriate, they also provide advocacy and representation to clients with proceedings before the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal. They also provide education in tenants' rights, for community workers, tenants, land lease community residents and community groups.

Their services are available to renters in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, Cessnock, Singleton, Upper Hunter, Muswellbrook or the Great Lakes areas of Mid Coast Local Government Area.
