Registration is important, but it is not the only factor to consider when choosing a Support Coordinator.
Not every Support Coordinator is required to be registered with the NDIS. In some cases, support coordination services may be delivered by practitioners who are not registered providers, but participants should still check whether the person is appropriately qualified, experienced, and suitable for their needs.
For many participants, choosing a registered provider provides extra assurance because registered providers are expected to meet NDIS Quality and Safeguarding requirements. It is also worth checking their experience with your type of support needs, their communication style, and whether they understand your goals and preferences.
